THE INTRODUCTION OF AHSOKA TANO || THE MANDALORIAN 2.05
boy let me tell you whoever decided that ahsoka’s action scenes should be shot like she was batman/the predator was 100% goddamn right
She’s Anakin Skywalker’s padawan, Darth Vader’s apprentice, the product of her experiences and his attention and tutelage. Vader, Anakin- either was an inexorable force of nature, impossible to miss or ignore, a tsunami- the second you saw him in the distance or at the door, you knew you were dead. You don’t see Ahsoka, when you’re on watch. You hear the screams, you hear and see the bodies drop and the heads roll, you see scorch marks and fallen trees and holes burned into the gates. You think you see the outline of horns, a predator in the night toying with her hapless prey before she disappears like the spectre she obviously is. Then you hear that eerie voom, like bottled lightning, and the ground in front of you is suddenly bright as day. You look up- you can finally see skin, and markings, and you’re too close, much too close, close enough to see her burning blue eyes lit by those flashes of bright white-
Then you’re dead. And she accomplishes her goals, the same way Vader does. Burgeoning rebellions bloom in the wake of her blood trail. Vader strikes fear into the hearts of all who see his work, but he’s the devil everyone knows. Ahsoka Tano is just a strangely persistent ghost story, until she isn’t. She’s a demon made flesh, personally honed and mentored by one of the biggest monsters in the galaxy.
